Exagen has completed a broad agreement with the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center (UNMHSC) that provides for retrospective and prospective clinical studies as well as access to specialized laboratories for genomic data collection.

UNMHSC is the largest integrated health care treatment, research and education complex in New Mexico. As part of a major research university, UNMHSC's research grants and contract awards have increased by 80 percent over the past five years.

Exagen has signed an exclusive licensing agreement with the University of New Mexico's Science and Technology Corporation, giving Exagen exclusive rights to several patents for a novel FISH (fluorescence in situ hybridization) process developed at UNMHSC.

The Science and Technology Corporation (STC) at the University of New Mexico is a nonprofit corporation owned exclusively by UNM to protect and transfer faculty inventions to the commercial marketplace. STC licenses innovative technology developed at UNM, including therapeutics, diagnostics, medical devices and drug-discovery tools.
